Nanofiltration (NF) Sanitary Membrane Elements

“Membranium“ sanitary spiral-wound nanofiltration membrane elements are a proven and obvious choice for a variety of processes: high-yield concentration of products such as whey or permeate from the ultrafiltration process. The nanofiltration membrane is capable of retaining divalent metal salts, passing mainly monovalent metal salts into the permeate. Also, in a limited volume, organic low-molecular substances can pass through the membrane.

"Membranium" spiral-wound nanofiltration membrane elements are used to solve many different engineering problems, for example:

  • Concentration of acid and cheese whey, skim milk;
One of the most common applications for nanofiltration in the dairy industry is the concentration of acid and cheese whey. Concentration is carried out, as a rule, up to 18-20% of dry matter

  • Desalting and concentration of biologically active substances, enzymes;
After the ultrafiltration step, nanofiltration can be used as an additional step before evaporation, or as an alternative in the last concentration step.

  • Concentration of pigments.
Pigments are used for dyeing fabrics and clothes, for the manufacture of varnishes and paints, the manufacture of colored plastics, rubbers, in the production of ink, in pharmacology and cosmetology
