New Director General was appointed at ZAO RM Nanotech

March 29, 2014

On 28th March, 2014, a new Director General was appointed at ZAO RM Nanotech, Europe’s largest and Russia’s only manufacturer of nanostructured membranes. The company’s new head is Denis A. Makienko.

“I’ve always been result-oriented. The proposal to fill the position of Director General of such a unique company was a real challenge to me. When people abroad start giving serious thought to buying Russian membranes, this will be a worthy result for me,” the new company head Denis Makienko said while sharing his plans. He says his main objective is to turn the company into a key player in the membrane technologies market in Russia and beyond.

Denis Makienko graduated from A.F. Mozhaisky Military Space Engineering Academy and did his military service in units of the Ministry of Defence. After retirement Denis Makienko received additional business education, including an MBA degree abroad. He has successful experience of company management and crisis management skills. Throughout most of his working career he was employed by foreign companies and CG Rosatom’s structures.

Since the company’s foundation in 2010, this ambitious project has been managed by Ivan G. Bazhenov. Having put together a unique team of Russian “membrane makers” and enlisted the support of JSC RUSNANO, he built a plant and launched production of several types of membranes. Mr. Bazhenov is an incumbent member of the company’s Board of Directors and continues providing significant inputs to management by passing on his invaluable experience.

The ZAO RM Nanotech project is based on years-long scientific and experimental know-how of ZAO STC Vladipor. Having launched batch production of membrane fabric and roll elements based thereon in September 2013, ZAO RM Nanotech is now closely cooperating with major domestic companies, such as Lukoil, Gazprom, Vodokanal of St. Petersburg and others. Entering foreign markets is also near at hand: the Russian Membranes project has been actively promoted at the world’s largest specialised exhibition. The first customer leads have already visited the production facilities in Vladimir and were amazed at technologies and product quality.
